But resisting hype can also be empowering, grounding, and even joyful. It is empowering to reaffirm the value of our skills and expertise. It is grounding to lean in to the value of human-to-human connection, of being human together. And it can be flat-out fun to find the silliest excesses of the hype machine and deflate it, with ridicule as praxis.
