it seems like a book that’s just a filler for another “real” book. though the case was interesting, there wasn’t the usual feel you get when reading gerritsen’s books. that you are as clueless as jane and maura or the victim.
in my opinion the characters seemed a little flat and i felt like maura was totally out of character of the version from the former books but more like the maura from the tv series (i like a lot of things from book maura better then from the tv version).
no insight into the ladies private life, only a glimpse of a conflict that might be building up between maura and her mother.
nevertheless there are worse books out there and it was never outright boring. it’s a quick reading fix.
